Hi! I’m a Korean adoptee from Seoul, South Korea. I was raised in a military family, but ultimately called Kansas home. I have a BA is Psychology and a MS in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Even with my Psychology background, I worked as an ESL teacher in Taichung, Taiwan for 4 years. And now working with an IT Healthcare Company to expand interoperability across all hospitals. But my real path is helping others who I can share my experiences and guide them. And this is why Adoptees Go Global was created.
Since 2013, I volunteered my time with an international adoption agency through post adoption services. I’ve volunteered at Korean Heritage camps with kids from 1st to 6th grade. I also help led pre-teen break-out sessions. And led Discovery Days, teenage adoptees from China, India, Korea, Vietnam, Haiti, Guatemala, Russia. Traveled to Haiti to volunteer.
The first time I went on my birthland tour was in June 2012 with my siblings. In 2015, with Eastern Social Welfare Society and the Korean government, I attended a language program at Hallym University in Chuncheon, Korea. Since then, I have led other birthland tours back to Korea. I have traveled back to Korea 10 other times in 11 years.
I’m an avid golfer and world traveler. I have a cat named Tanqueray. My favorite foods are soon dubu jjigae (tofu soup), cheese quesadillas, sushi, and strawberry ice cream.
